Chief Strategy Officer

The institution focuses on several sectors of financial activity: Banking Services; Capital Markets; Asset Management and Fund Registration; Insurance and Re-insurance; Islamic Finance & Professional Service Providers.

A Chief Strategy Officer is urgently required to promote effective decision making and a performance based culture within the organisation by driving and facilitating the strategic planning for the management and overseeing the corporate performance management processes. To act as an incubator for new ideas and projects that support the organisation’s vision and manage the Business Intelligence activities needed to support the planning activities of the company.

Key Responsibilities

Establishes clearly articulated strategic goals for the organisation.
Facilitates consistency of the different entities strategies with overall corporate strategy.
Oversees the overall strategic planning and corporate performance management processes, including KPIs for departments.
Manages Business Intelligence needed to support the planning activities of the centre.
Evaluates strategic initiatives and provide feedback to the management as to their alignment with the overall strategy.
Incubates of new ideas and special projects.
Develops the risk planning and management function of the organization.
As a member of the Executive team, makes decisions on a wide range of complex issues. Participates in various management committees.
Manages and develops the Strategy and Planning team. Responsible for the departmental budget.

Drives strategic decisions affecting the future direction of the organization and the Centre. Defines problems and develops knowledge and explore solutions in a wide area of complex issues.

Key Qualifications

Masters Degree in Business, Finance or Strategy.
Over 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources.
Over 5 years experience in managing individuals and teams, setting business goals, resource planning and managing overall employee performance. Effective leadership techniques required to ensure high performance.
