Corrosion Engineer
We currently have an opportunity for a Corrosion Engineer to join our Energy Services Division based in Algeria. The Corrosion Engineer will primarily be responsible for supporting the Nalco Speciality Chemicals and Engineering Services contract with BP Sonarco. Other Responsibilities include: - Responsible for all corrosion related issues- Provide high quality technical advice regarding corrosion issues- Ensure material failure investigations and root cause analysis are carried out where considered necessary- Provide relevant input for the preparation of budgets and plans- Rotation 28/28, must accommodate some flexibility- Food, travel and accommodation provided - Expect to be in this position for at least 3 years Minimum qualifications the candidate will have include: - Should be degree educated in relevant science or engineering discipline - In-depth experience in corrosion- The candidate will need to portray their credibility, therefore experience in the order of 10+     years in corrosion chemical application and monitoring is required - Previous Oilfield or Refinery experience- Good Communication. English is a must; French and/or Arabic would be advantageous  The desired candidate will have professional experience to include: - Corrosion/Materials Engineer Background is preferred; however a Production Chemist/Chemical Engineer with extensive experience in Corrosion is also suitable- The corrosion engineer is expected by BP to be an expert in this field and must demonstrate capability accordingly- Knowledge in Cathodic protection is not a must but would help Nalco Company is the world’s leading water treatment and process improvement company.
