Our client is a well-known and highly respected retail bank in the United Arab Emirates, who has doubled their net profit over the last two years and is predicted to exceed their targets for 2007. Due to this ongoing expansion, the need has arisen to hire an experienced Head of Retail Banking to support and further drive the current development of the bank to continue to excel in the market. The Role: - Reporting to the General Management, this role encompasses all areas of personal and retail banking, including commercial loans, mortgage finance, retail finance and credit cards.
- The focus in this role is on the aggressive growth of the retail and personal banking business through innovative and sound strategic decisions, product development and delivery.
- Furthermore, the successful candidate will be responsible for channel sales and marketing, supported by over 1.000 staff.
Key Responsibilities: - Development and implementation of the medium and long term strategic deliverables of the business.
- Plan and direct the maintenance and development of both business and operational activities in order to maximise profitability and growth.
- Encourage and endorse development of new products / business initiatives to enhance income and/or reduce risk.
- Delivery of high-quality customer service across all channels.
- Branding/Advertising Strategy & Corporate Identity.
- Manage, motivate & develop core team member to ensure that individual and collective performance meets the future needs of the business.
- Represent the Bank as required to media and external bodies, ensuring that a positive image is projected and promoted at all times.
- Inform and report to GM and Board all relevent matters pertaining to the business, and market place and highlight relevent issues affecting both.
- Deputise for GM in event of absence and attend all Board meetings as required.
Individual Profile: - Currently responsible of a retail banking operation that returns between £30m-£200m net profit pa with full P&L responsibility.
- EU/UK/US Education with major school MBA preferred.
- Experience of working in multicultural environment, and preferably have worked in UAE/ME or Asia Pac.
- Astute business mind with a drive to deliver strong results by making good business and risk decisions.
- Cross cultural people management.
