Chief Operations Officer

Our client is a highly branded retail bank in the United Arab Emirates whose portfolio comprises all modern consumer and commercial banking products, including credit cards, mortgage finance, SME finance and wealth management. The bank has doubled its net profit over the last two years and is predicted to grow by 50% for 2007.

Due to the growth of the business, the need has arisen to hire an experienced COO to support and further develop the banks operational effectiveness.

The role of the COO will focus on aligning the strategic objective of the bank's rapidly developing business portfolio with the internal operation of the company to deliver efficient returns. This will ensure seamless communications amongst the management team to drive capacity for further expansion.

 

The Role:

  • Reporting directly to GM, working to enhance all support functions for the bank across six departments.
  • Direct reports will include Head of Operations, CIO and Head of Risk Management.
  • External relations including UAE Central Bank reporting.

 

The Qualifications:

  • Heavyweight experience of managing retail and commercial banking operations within a large multinational.
  • Successful history of efficiently managing operations across Risk Management, Compliance, IT, Treasury, and Business Continuity (BCP).
  • Stature, presence and a demonstrable track record of achievement in a cross-border, multicultural background.
