Group Marketing and IT General Manager

We are looking for an experienced Group Marketing and IT General Manager

to join their expanding team in Cairo, Egypt. The right candidate will have experience in a similar position and MUST be based in Egypt now.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

 

The Group Marketing and IT General Manager is responsible for the strategic direction, planning, organizing, and implementation and direct supervising of the Marketing and Communications plus Information Technology departments

 

This position reports to the Group Vice Chairman for Corporate Affairs and supervises directly the Group Marketing & Communications Manager and Group IT & Knowledge Manager

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

·         To put forward an overall MIT plan for a one year basis that is reviewed monthly. The Plan needs to be coordinated with the Marketing & Communications department plus the IT & Knowledge department and fulfil the objectives of the heads of all companies & departments

·         The overall plan needs to be divided on the basis companies and departments & approved yearly by the Marketing and IT GM and heads of each company & department

·         Sets monthly objectives for the Marketing & Communications Manager and the Information Technology Manager

·         Evaluates on a monthly basis the performance of the Marketing & Communications Manager and the Information Technology Manager, while supervising the performance evaluation of the Marketing Communications and IT departments’ staff

·         Engages in identifying training needs for the Marketing Communications and Information Technology staff to ensure efficient operations for these two departments are in place

·         Participates in the recruitment & selection process for the Marketing Communication and Information Technology staff in case of new hires

·         Approves budgets for the Marketing & Communication and Information Technology departments

·         Drives the strategic initiatives of the marketing communications strategies to ensure efficient marketing operations

·         Approves brands’ strategies, segmentation and positioning for the group and its operating companies

·         Reviews and approves cross leveraging marketing procedures to enhance sales between the Group’s units

·         Supervises the annual market plan development and its quarterly update

·         Reviews and approves Information Technology resources allocations for the entire group and its operating companies

·         Reviews and approves the Group information technology plan in terms of goals, priorities, and policies

·         Recommends after careful study of new trends in the information technology systems’ upgrades or restructuring

·         Approves the annual budget of information and communications systems

·         Ensures efficient maintenance operations of the Group’s information technology infrastructure

·         Participates in the negotiation phase of contracts for hardware and software acquisition, implementation, maintenance in addition to contracts regarding telecommunications consulting services

·         Makes sure that the Marketing & Communications departments executes its key functions:

Ø  Marketing for the entire group against clear objectives & revenue results

Ø  Communications both internally (newsletter, events, internal communication) and externally (website news updates, department statements, media contacts)

Ø  Media (ensure excellent contacts with print, TV, and radio media locally and internationally)

Ø  PR (ensure PR acts 24/7 on behalf of the Group for its guests, business partners, VIPs

 

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

 

·         20 Years of experience in Marketing and IT

·         Graduate of Marketing, Digital Media, Computer Science, Communication or Computer Engineering

·         MBA with marketing specialization would be ideal but is not essential

·         Has practical experience in both IT and Marketing fields in managerial levels

·         Fluent in English

·         Must be living in Egypt now

·         Egyptian nationals only
