Country Commercial Manager

Our client is a leading group with businesses in Food Retail, Fashion Retail, Restaurants and Fresh Food Distribution and Supply. They represent international brands and are developing rapidly with very strong growth plans for 2011

We are looking for an experienced Country Commercial Manager to develop their Fresh Fruit & Vegetable wholesale, supply and distribution across the region.  Depending on background the position could be based in Kuwait, Jordan or Lebanon

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

To direct and manage the assigned Country Commercial function. Includes developing policies, procedures and standards, ensuring effective implementation, recruiting qualified personnel, controlling pricing, negotiating and approving local accounts and developing the business

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES

 

·         Manage the entire P&L for the country

  • Directing and managing the Commercial Division in the Country ensuring availability of key staff and resources
  • Developing and defining Country business plan and budget
  • Reviewing and evaluating commercial performance of the business in light of agreed targets with the company Director
  • Providing input to the commercial strategy taking into consideration Country needs and requirements
  • Reviewing and approving major price changes
  • Approving promotional leaflets, programs and item selection released every period
  • Defining the assortment and mix for new accounts
  • Maintain strong relationships with current and potential target businesses
  • Supervising and facilitating coordination with other functions such as Operations, Logistics, Marketing, etc.
  • Supervising major negotiations with local suppliers and providing support to regional contract negotiations
  • Contributing to the development of policies, procedures and standards by recommending refinements and modifications as may be needed
  • Supervising and ensuring effective implementation of established policies and procedures

 

 

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

·         7 to 10 years experience within FMCG distribution/ wholesales/ supply

·         At least 3 years Commercial experience in fresh fruit and vegetable produce essential

·         Middle East experience is essential

·         Developed strategies and programs to grow the business

·         Capabilities to analyze markets, data to define priorities and strategic changes for the Company

·         Experience in selling items to Supermarkets, Hypermarkets and convenience stores very welcome

·         Open to all nationalities – with MENA experience

 

 

BENEFITS

·         Salary open - Will depend on experience levels, seniority of the candidate and interview performance

·         Depending on location and experience as a guide between 2,000 KWD to 4,000 KWD per month total package
