Our client is a high end Real Estate developer of luxurious apartments / homes that encapsulate luxury Dubai living with stunning landscaping and spacious living areas.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to lead the retail operations of an exclusive new home-grown lifestyle brand within the UAE market, working as a Strategy & Operations Retail Manager.  The initial project will be to create a unique retail village integrated in an exclusive residential community within the city of Dubai.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

The successful candidate will help create and deliver the vision/strategy of a creating a family destination offering luxury lifestyle choices which encompasses outdoor living, art & culture, home and lifestyle, healthy and sustainable living, garden, nursery and nature, organic foods, gourmet restaurants and boutique hospitality.

This is a very rare opportunity to contribute to the conception of an exciting project and deliver a landmark family retail and leisure destination for the UAE. The design stage is already underway.

The successful candidate will join an established corporate team operating as a master developer of a high-end luxury community in Dubai.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As the successful candidate you will possess:

• Strategic and operational knowledge of all operations including Finance, Merchandising, Supply Chain Management, Pricing, Cost Reduction, Sales & Marketing, Inventory Management and other areas of General Retail Management
• Ability to lead and develop a team capable of delivering exceptional knowledge-based customer services
• The ability to break the corporate mould in order to deliver something bespoke, refreshing, innovative, quality driven whilst commercially viable - an alternative to big box retail
• Ability to work with the in-house senior management team, FM, Architects, PR/Marketing to ensure the retail village is planned and delivered with consideration of commercial and operational factors
• Skills to develop, present and deliver a credible business/resource plan for the retail village taking accountability for full P&L revenue stream and footfall
• Ability to solve complex business problems and to manage complexity and ambiguity
• Willingness to roll sleeves up and to contribute to any level of operations if the business requires

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ideally an MBA or business related degree
• Minimum 5+ years senior management experience with a quality driven retail operation ideally across the lifestyle segment
• Multilingual (English/Arabic) would be an advantage but not essential
• Experience of working in a multicultural environment and market place ideally Europe or US
• A formidable track record in lifestyle retailing across a broad range of relevant quality industries and products preferably in the ME region
