Estimator (Surveyor)
Duties and Responsibilities: 

Compile accurate quantity take-offs, quantity surveys of relevant materials, labor, and equipment to build an accurate construction estimate.
Prepare comprehensive conceptual estimates. Must have the ability to provide complete appropriate substantiation and documentation, providing a basis for the estimate and assumptions.
Survey the local market and build a pricing library of rates compatible with the local market.  Proof/test this library against the local subcontractor market.
Assist the project team in evaluation of sub-contractor estimates for accuracy and completeness. Function as a member of the Project Controls team creating accurate predictions on the cost of projects as an aid to the project strategic management.

Prepare change order estimates.

Requirements / Experience:
Graduate of a four-year degree program in quantity surveying, construction management, engineering, or engineering management. 
7 - 10 years of experience in estimating/quantity surveying with quantity surveying firm or contractor on construction projects of increasing complexity. 
Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency. 
Fluent in written/spoken English.
Demonstrated experience with estimating software packages such as WinQS, MC2, ProEst or Timberline.
Familiarity with construction cost indices such as Richardson, Means, etc.
