VP SUPERMARKETS

Our client is a leading international company specializing in Retail across Kuwait and the Middle East. They have divisions including Supermarkets, Convenience stores and Hypermarkets. They are currently expanding across the GCC region with new launches planned across various countries in prime locations.

 

We are looking for an experienced professional to manage the ongoing development of the company as the Vice President

 

 

ROLE OVERVIEW

 

To direct and manage the growth and development of the company including new opportunities, new expansion and strategic growth.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Developing and defining Country business plan and budget
  • Reviewing and evaluating performance of the business
  • Providing input to the commercial strategy taking into consideration Country needs and requirements
  • Defining the assortment and mix for new stores and the creation of the relevant order book
  • Supervising and facilitating coordination with other functions such as Operations, Logistics, Marketing, etc.
  • Supervising major negotiations with local suppliers and providing support to regional contract negotiations
  • Contributing to the development of policies, procedures and standards by recommending refinements and modifications as may be needed

 

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

 

·         Degree in relevant subject – MBA is a plus

·         10 – 12 years experience

·         At least 3 years in similar role

·         At least 2 years experience working for Supermarkets, Food Retail, Hypermarkets, Grocery stores and Convenience Stores

·         Turnaround or Start Up experience very welcome

·         Must have experience with growth and development of a company

·         Strong leadership skills and advanced interpersonal skills

·         Open to all nationalities – UK, EU, South African and Arabic nationals very welcome
