UAV Senior Systems Engineer

    Our client, based in the UAE, is the first of its kind in the Gulf region. The company aims to develop the technology and capability to meet both the military and commercial aerospace vehicle requirements of the future. Their work will strengthen ties between the civilian and military sectors as well as the industrial and technical communities, acting as the incubator for new unmanned systems programs.

    The company will have as its principal activities in the design, development, manufacturing and integration of unmanned aerial vehicle system (UAV/UAS). The business vision is to achieve the capabilities to provide services for any type of UAV/UAS, Fixed Wing, Vertical Takeoff and Landing (VTOL), but with a view to moving to Advance Ground Vehicles (AGV) as well as Sea Vehicles (SV) also and thus become a globally recognised brand.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop system specifications and interface control documents for the Global Observer Launch and Recovery Element (LRE)

  • Analyze LRE performance requirements and allocate derived requirements to lower level subsystems

  • Perform systems analysis using standard techniques such as functional flows, use cases, sequence diagrams, state transition diagrams, and timing diagrams

  • Define operator interfaces using human factors analysis and other engineering techniques

  • Develop designs and software requirements for the LRE

  • Develop and maintain subsystem analyses, specifications, ICDs, and test validation & verification plans

  • Participate in the development of a LRE integration lab

  • Participate in the validation of the LRE design

  • Work with vendors and subcontractors

 

Required Qualifications and Background

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent

  • 10+ years Systems design/analysis experience

  • Strong analytical and concept design skills

  • Technical knowledge of current military radars, communication radios, and operator workstations

  • Government project experience a must.

  • Demonstrated ability to technically manage subcontractors

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.

  • Strong computer skills including: Windows applications, Project Management software, and Design tools.

  • US Citizenship and an active DOD Secret or higher clearance.
