Our client is one of the leading independent operations and maintenance services provider for the energy and water desalinization industry in the Saudi Arabian peninsula

 

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Commercial and Business Development Director to head up its growing team.


JOB OVERVIEW

 

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director, Supply Chain, provides management and leadership to supply chain logistics to support the operation and maintenance of the power and water desalinization plants. The primary focus of the position includes materials management, logistics, planning, purchasing, commodity management, and inventory control. He leads all supply chain initiatives.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

·         Serve as a key member of the executive team that sets and executes the company’s strategic direction

·         Ensures compliance with corporate policies and Management System and establishment of the required programs, procedures and processes

·         Leads and manages the Company supply chain team

·         Develops supply chain initiatives, best practices, and strategies and ensures effective implementation and execution

·         Ensures supply chain team maintains a focus on development of competitively priced internationally sourced commodities and spares while balancing the need to develop long term supply alternatives within the KSA on a preferred basis

·         Supports enterprise initiatives by developing global sourcing strategies for a range of chemical commodities ensuring migration into existing supply chain with minimum interruption and maximum cost reduction

·         Manages supplier performance including scorecards, internal metrics and inventory control

·         Ensures supply chain process is accountable for meeting continuous improvement initiatives both from a strategic and tactical perspective including lead time reduction, flexibility to schedules, quality improvement, inventory reduction, and cost reduction on a year over year basis

·         Integrates large scale cost savings and drives these through the respective plant

·         Develops strategic relationships with a targeted global supplier base

·         Reviews and ensures that the appropriate financial metrics are monitored and that proper fiscal controls are in place to maximize cost savings throughout the function

·         Leads performance improvement programs throughout the supply chain using overall leadership experience

 

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

 

·         Degree in Engineering or business administration

·         15 years in Supply Chain in a production environment

·         Supply Chain experience with power generation and water desalinization or chemical industry preferred

·         10 years supervisory/management experience

·         Knowledge of SAP (or other) MRP/ERP system

·         Demonstrated success to develop and execute comprehensive supply chain strategies and action plans

·         Proven ability to resolve problems quickly using outside the box thinking and creative problem solving skills

·         Demonstrated success implementing, leading, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives

·         Ability to influence and drive change and accountability

·         Ability to manage competing interests while maintaining a sense of urgency and ability to meet frequent short timeline, goals, and deadlines

·         Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

·         Excellent analytical, organization, and planning skills

·         Ability to develop, lead, and motivate cross-functional teams

·         Strong customer service orientation

·         Well developed and effective contract negotiation and management skills

·         Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively as part of a team in a matrix organization
