Our client is a leader within the newspaper publishing industry with a very strong and growing reputation and number of readers.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Advertising Manager – Special Projects to head up this team in UAE. This position is responsible for generation of revenue with the focus on below the line selling to clients and agencies as enumerated below

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Revenue Management

• Responsible for the overall advertising targets from innovative revenue streams such as contract publishing of special focus titles, below the line selling, Inserts, belly bands, stickers, brochures, folders, wraps, etc
• Formulation of revenue targets as a whole in line with corporate strategy
• Increase revenue over and above targets and ensure achievement of the revenue targets

Client Relationship Management

• Develop and maintain good relationships with both existing and new clients with a goal to increase advertising revenue which may include rate negotiations, annual contracts, offer incentives, packages, etc in line with the innovative/new projects mentioned above
• Generate good will in the market by being a brand ambassador for the publication and its products
• Understanding the client requirements and delivering on them

 Team Management/ Coordination

• Initially this job will be self managed, but if and when the increase in this revenue stream necessitates the addition of sales personnel, will have to manage the team and assist in achieving targets
• Distribute team targets to individual team members and motivate them to achieve the same
• Maintain reports from all team members and track follow up on remedial action taken on clients / business

Other Projects

• Conceptualize events such as mini exhibitions, quiz competition, debating concepts, sporting events, cooking and weekend show, seminars on various topics for generating revenue and enhancement of the brand

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

·      Graduate Degree/ MBA preferred

·      Marketing/ Distribution/ Sales Management certifications welcome

·      10 plus years of overall experience in marketing and sales management

·      3 plus years spent in media sales & marketing in managerial roles

·      Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership and persuasive skills are required at this level

·      Good team management and leadership skills

·      Able to lead various functional units towards strategizing and achievement of revenue targets
