Beach Manager

The BAKE Beach Manager Position will oversee the operational aspects of running BAKE, including the beach, cabanas and two retail outlets. This company operates 7 days a week year round.

The Manager needs to demonstrate ability to train staff and ensure luxury customer service standards. The Manager stands/walks approximately 60% of shift. Sits at desk or in meetings approximately 40% of shift. Decisions directly impact customer service and the public image of  BAKE.  Poor decisions may result in customer dissatisfaction and loss of revenues, due to unprofessional manner, lack of product and service knowledge, ineffective management of staff, unsafe work habits, or improperly handling of customer service situations. The Manager will be self directed, creative and able to work effectively with many different types of people.

The role of the Beach Manager is to operate with minimal supervision from the General Manager within the BAKE overall business model. The Beach Manager will receive broad goals from the General Manager and will perform the job with minimal supervision. There will regularly scheduled interactions on a daily basis for the beach manager to provide feedback to the General Manager, and vice versa. There will be weekly scheduled meetings to review last week, week coming and month ahead.

The position is such that the workload will vary depending on the time of year and the ability and skills of the Manager to perform their duties.

This position will require significant weekend and evening work as some of the events can take place during the evening. The work at BAKE takes place outside traditional business hours of operation. Some weeks may require more than forty eight hours of work. Our events occur during a variety of times in a year.

We also expect the business manager to be involved in business development especially developing new sites, partnerships and ability to negotiate contracts.

 Skills

The Beach Manager will oversee the operational aspects of running the Beach.

To hire, train, schedule, support, review, discipline and terminate employees

Overseeing and managing sales

Coordinating on site promotions and sponsorships

To understand and respond to all guest needs

To continually monitor and control BAKE expenditures to ensure meeting operational standards while maintaining annual budget.

Business development including new sites, partnerships and contract negotiations.

The Beach Manager will also have several Overall scheduling of staff and events during the year, month, week and day.

Ensure the daily drop preparation and distribution of daily staffing schedules

The maintenance of the BAKE retail outlets including inventory control, cash handling procedures and ordering of supplies

Establishing and communicating operation and event schedule for BAKE

Establish, maintain and follow up on Log Books for BAKE

To establish and maintain beach policies and procedures, including service style, to ensure professional standards of operation.

To control retail inventory, variety, and cost to maintain adequate supply, quality and profitability.

To satisfactory complete daily paperwork, as required, including logs, reservation, sales, inventory and reports

To ensure the posting of schedules for all beach and retail staff on a weekly basis.

To complete daily payroll reports and prepare final time-log for monthly payroll.

To plan and oversee festivities for special holidays (EID, Ramadan, National days for various nationalities).

To prepare and implement a children’s activities program

Manage and assist in input and reports of tickets and maintain database

Prepare and manage management reports

Prepare financial statements and annual reports

Review and revise the various policies and procedures, processes established by BAKE 

Update all manuals on a regular basis
