As an engineer in the field of UAV/UAS, this is a real opportunity to place your “stamp” onto a product, platform or system, that you WILL see fly. Due to the restricted nature of the project, further information will be provided upon application, plus direct conversations with existing placements within the company. Role Overview The role is to manage, provide leadership and management to the teams in place i.e. Design Leads, System Architects, Chief Systems Engineers, Optical Engineers and Systems Engineers within the UAV field. You will develop company strategy towards becoming a globally recognized brand, to provide forward thinking leadership and to become a recognized authoritative figure within the systems community. The role requires the candidate be well organized, have an analytical mind and understand the importance of “attention to detail”. The role specifics include: Manage teams to deliver the engineering solution to technical, financial and scheduled specification. To review and audit to company process and procedures Co-ordinate and manage Heads of Engineering Projects to ensure resolution of issues in a timely fashion. Continuous development of staff including provision of staff and strategic training and development. To facilitate and vet all associated bid estimates within the group to meet associated product needs. To develop a strategy for Systems Engineering Teams linked to the strategic direction of the Company. Champion outstanding customer service at every level. Manage risk across engineering projects and communicate issues to senior management.
Key Candidate Requirements Minimum of 10 years experience and a proven track record within System Engineering, and minimum 5 years experience in similar role. Exceptional facilitation, process and presentation skills together with excellent communication skills will be required to establish credibility at Board and Senior Management level with in new and old clients. The successful candidate must have the ability to build credibility and professional authority and exhibit exceptional influencing and motivational skills at all levels within the organisation. Maintain a high degree of integrity and professionalism, innovative approach with good lateral thinking and flexible to change.
