Our client is a leading specialized contracting company providing a range of high quality construction services including concrete repair, water proofing and corrosion technologies

 

We are looking for an experienced Deputy General Manager to be based in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. The main purpose of the Deputy General Manager’s job is to support the General Manager in the execution of strategies and policies as approved by the Board of Directors. The Deputy General Manager implements directions for the company and oversees the operations and the development of the company

 

Reporting Directly to: General Manager

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Reports on performance and is accountable to the GM  for overall performance (financial and non-financial)
  • Performs the GM’s responsibilities when the GM is absent or cannot perform them
  • Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of project, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel
  • Support the GM in the development and update of yearly strategic plan and budget
  • Executes the strategies approved by Group Vice President-Contracting & Industrial Services and the BoD
  • Develops and supervises the implementation of operational policies and procedures supporting stated strategies and objectives
  • Disseminates values and culture throughout the organization
  • Provides support for the professional development of staff and managers reporting directly to him

 

Communications & Working Relationships:

  • Interfaces with the Business Development Manager, Construction Manager and Operations Support Manager for all activities related to:
    • The execution of Strategy;
    • The key client relationships;
    • Risk Management.
  • Coordinates with the financial officer for all activities related to finance and treasury
  • Coordinates with the Corporate Services Officer for ensuring the smooth execution of processes related to services supplied by head office
  • Interacts with the Business Development Manager, Construction Manager and Operations Support Manager for managing day to day activities
  • Interacts on a daily basis with Unit Heads through reports and management meetings
  • Interacts on a daily basis with the GM on operational and business issues

 

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

 

·         BS in Engineering (Civil or Mechanical preferred). MBA Preferred

·         15+ years experience in the Construction/contracting industry

·         10+ years experience as a senior executive in a company of size or larger

·         5+ years experience in the GCC, preferably in Saudi Arabia

·         Solid working knowledge of budgeting, business development, human resources, strategic planning

·         Strong track record of past performance in positions of leadership with ability to generate respect and trust from staff and external stakeholders

·         Requires extensive local and international travel

 

KEY SKILLS

 

·         Excellent interpersonal, communication, public speaking, organization, and presentation skills

·         Demonstrated dynamism and leadership qualities with forward-looking abilities and anticipation of market and industry opportunities

·         Strong computer skills
