Job Purpose The individual holding this position will be required to plan, organize, coordinate, and supervise the development, maintenance and operation of Airport Database (AODB) and day to day operations. Lead and supervise the database team. The individual will also be responsible for the development and continuous appraisal of all AODB systems and procedures under his/her scope and manage all the airport applications and staff: Implement leading edge technologies and solutions for Data Warehouses Manage evaluation and procurement of new database products and solutions Work with enterprise teams to effectively manage vendor relationships, licensing and maintenance of platform technologies Budget expenditure and management responsibilities Expert ability to instruct and interact with small groups on data and information requirements and coordination tasks Leads the architecture, design and construction of database access protocols Management of day to day operations including issue resolution, resource utilization and task schedule management
Duties and Responsibilities Administer, and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the Availability, security and integrity of AODB Responsible for providing guidance and mentoring as well as managerial oversight for the database administration support services Manage a team of database administrators, responsible for technical functions associated with creating and maintaining databases, database performance and tuning analysis, capacity planning, workload modeling and prediction, systems support, application support and optimization, problem resolution and tracking, and software upgrades Develop a strategic plan for database management while enabling a tactical approach to deliver projects on time and within budget. Additionally, the manager will be required to partner with infrastructure teams to integrate AODB strategies with corporate objectives
Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Experience At least 12 years experience in database management At least 8 years experience in a managerial role Demonstrated high work ethics
Solid skills with the design and architecture of data warehouses, business intelligence systems, and data mining solutions Experience with clustered database implementations on various platforms, including UNIX, Linux and Windows
Must have strong knowledge of Data warehouse design and Implementation Excellent leadership capabilities and communication and documentation skills Ability to rapidly assimilate technical knowledge
